 UO: Code of Conduct
Code of Honor

  • Honor -- All members will act with honor at all times. Assisting those who need it, and defending others when possible. We stick together and defend each other.

  • Orders -- In non-combat situations we will handle business in as informally as feasible. However in a combat situation, the orders of the hunt leader or ranking member should be followed. During a fight, working together is required, and this is the only way to do so.
  • Have Fun -- The main goal of the game is to enjoy it.
  • No Unwarranted Player Killing -- We do not
kill the undeserving. Known murderers, thieves, and general pests who otherwise deserve it are fair game, as are those who assault other innocent players. Defending yourself from another player is also fair, though provoking another player into a fight for the purposes of being able to say you were "defending yourself" is not.
  • Dress Code -- All members are required to wear the uniform of the Knights of Steel on any official guild function. The guild colors are kept on the fourth floor of the Citadel of Steel. These colors are blue, gray and black. These are very spacific colors and only the hues of these tubs are to be used. The main chest must be blue, the back or cape is gray and boots and hats are black. You are not required to wear a uniform when not at official guild functions.
  • Conduct in the Citadel of Steel -- The Guild tower of the Knights of Steel is known as the Citadel of Steel. Combat and sparring is prohibited in the Citadel of Steel and should me taken out onto the green outside. While in the Chapel, in the Citadel of Steel... please show respect and remove any hat, headband, or helmet you may be wearing. Weapons should be stored safely, and not in your hands, unless for ceremonial purposes.
  • Scheduled Meetings -- The Knights of Steel meet twice a week at the Citadel of Steel. Meetings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 6:00pm Pacific (7:00pm Mountain, 8:00pm Central, and 9:00pm Eastern). Meetings are led by either the Lord/Lady High Chancellor or one of the Steel Council. If no members of the Council are present, the most senior ranking member will be in charge. An open invitation to all allied guilds stands, and any members of said guilds are more than welcome.
  • No Stealing -- We do not steal from other players. We can only take what is rightfully ours earned through honorable combat or work. Stealing is also considered looting from dead bodies of other players, abandoned or otherwise. If you come across a dead body, either leave it be, or save it for the rightful owner. If the rightful owner cannot be reasonably found, you may choose to keep the items or donate them to the guild treasury. You should record the name and associations of any corpse, so the possessions can be properly returned. Any member caught stealing from another player is subject to an inquisition regarding loss of rank, status, and title. A member is subject to possible banishment for a second reported offense.
  • "Grief Players" -- We do not taunt or harass people within or outside the guild. We are a guild of peace and justice. Any member caught taunting, harassing, or scamming another player is subject to an inquisition regarding loss of rank, status, and title. A member is subject to possible banishment for a second reported offense. If it becomes known to us that you have other non-guilded characters that participate in this sort of activity, the same penalties will apply. Our primary source of trust is the person behind the keyboard... not just the character. Other behavior that
may result in instant expulsion from the guild include (but are not limited to) excessive profanity, racism, and blatent breaches of OSI/UO terms of service.
  • Conflicts between members -- The first step to resolving any conflict with a member is to address that problem with the person in question. Most times the problem is unintentional and the member may apologize and the issue is resolved. If , however, this does not resolve the problem it may be addressed in the presence of the Lord/Lady High Chancellor, or one of The Council.
  • Resolving conflicts with rules or the guild --Sometimes there will come a time when a member has a problem with an interpretation of a rule or a way of conduct in the game. If you have a problem with, or a question, of a standing rule; or you have any doubt regarding an action you want to take... do not do it. Contact a member of The Council and ask. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse and any action taken without taking in the guilds concerns can lead to disciplinary action up to and including banishment from the guild.

  • Titles and the Leadership Council -- Titles and Rank will be granted purely at the discretion of the Lord/Lady High Chancellor and The Council. Membership in the leadership council is also purely at the discretion of the Lord/Lady High Chancellor. However, suggestions are always welcome and encouraged. One important note, simply asking for a title... does not mean you shall receive it.
