Membership & Ranking Structure
- Lord/Lady High Chancellor (1)-- The Lord/Lady High Chancellor is the Leader of the Knights of Steel. This
individual must consult The Council regarding changes in policy and other duties, but ultimately has the power of veto over issues voted on by The Council. The Lord High Chancellor can request The Council bring issues to a vote. Responsible for organizing the events and activities of the Knights of Steel including Tournaments, Meetings, and Quests. This position also watches over the sub-guilds of the Knights of Steel. (Knight Industries and the Legion of Steel). - Lord/Lady Chancellor (5) -- The Lord/Lady Chancellors are collectively known as The Council. They assist the Lord High Chancellor in decisions and policy making, enforcing rules, and organizing events and hunts. Actions of The Council are dictated by vote. For all actions other than acceptance of new members, this is done by simple majority vote. Tie votes, resulting from vacant positions or members unable to attend meetings, may be resolved by the Lord High Chancellor.
- First Knight (1)-- The First Knight is the Captain of the Knights. Often leading our forces into battle. The First Knight is responsible for organizing and training the Knights, into an effective fighting force. Should a seat be left vacant on The Council, this person may be asked to assume those responsibilities.
- Knight Lieutenant (4) -- The Knight Lieutenant serves as Lieutenant of the Knights, and assist the First Knight with his/her duties. Typically this position is also a tactical group leader, during contest or hunt meetings.
- Knight of Conscription (2) -- This Knight is responsible for recruit training and bears primary responsibility for training, educating, and evaluating new members. The Knight of Conscription is also responsible for setting up Knight Quests for eligilble Knight Apprentices.
- Knight Champion-- This title is reserved for members who have made significant contribution to the group, and formerly served on The Council. Primarily this title will be bestowed to members who are currently unable to meet the requirements of serving on The Council. In most situations, the word of bearers of this title should be considered as if it came from a member of the Council.
- Knight -- This is the station for all members who have proven themselves to be worthy of the title of Knight. Stalwart defenders of the Virtues, they serve to protect the land from evil. Their motto is "Live by the Steel, Die by the Steel".
- Squire -- A Concript that has proven themselves in battle but have not yet proven themselves in wisdom. A Squire is due to be Quested and Tested, to determine their final eligibility to become a Knight.
- Conscript -- Conscripts are the newest recruits of the Knights of Steel and are working towards Knighthood. They must prove they have the abilities to fight but also have wisdom in their actions. There is a time to fight and a time when other tactics are wiser. When a Conscript learns these, they are ready to take their Knight Quest and attempt to assume their place on the roster of Knights.
