The Steel Dominion :: KS: Joining

Joining the Knights of Steel The Knights of Steel do not accept on-line applications for membership. We reside entirely on the Llane Server of World of Warcraft. Joining our ranks is not easy, but we consider it worth the effort it requires. We have put in place the following steps for acceptance into the Knights of Steel: (Note: We do reserve the right to modify this process as needed)

One member with the rank of Knight or above must sponsor a prospective member to the guild. The individual is taken to the either a Knight Avenger, The First Knight, or any member of the Council, to be informed of the duties and responsibilities of joining the Order of Steel. The prospective member then goes before the High Chancellor and with his/her acceptance will become a Squire. The prospective member is now given the rank of Squire in the Knights of Steel and is placed on the guild roster with the title of "Squire". Squires may wear guild colors and participate in guild events/meetings. Squires are not permitted to sponsor new members into the Knights of Steel.
Let it be known, that recruiting someone for membership assumes responsibility for that prospective member. This responsibility includes providing for the training of the Squire in Guild practices and customs.
After a period of no less than 2 weeks, any full member may voice their opinion on whether or not they will support the nomination in person or by board private message to the High Chancellor. The Council will vote in private concerning full membership of the Probationary member. The vote among the leadership has 4 potential outcomes.

The Squire may be dismissed.
The Squire may remain on probationary status.
The Squire is given the rank of Shield Knight and given more responsibilities, but is still under review for full membership.
The Squire is accepted into the Guild with all the Duties, Rights, and Responsibilities that represents. The vote for this outcome must be unanimous among available members of the Council. The Squire may be sent on an appropriate quest, which must be fulfilled before granting of the title of "Knight".

A Squire should make the effort to meet and travel with The Council, and the Guild Officers, to assist in their case. If you haven't met and traveled with Guild Officers or members of The Council, it is unlikely you will be accepted. Also, respecting our Code of Conduct is required for membership. The exact results of the acceptance vote is confidential, and only the results are announced.

Following acceptance of a new member, he/she will be remain on the guild roster. Allegiance must be sworn to the High Chancellor, and the guild name "Knights of Steel" will be noted on their name. Any titles are granted at the discretion of the High Chancellor.
